Everyone knows that vitamins are essential for good health, but when it comes to losing weight, you have to offer your system a little help.

Not getting enough vitamins for energy and weight loss and minerals can make the challenge of losing weight that much more difficult. Unfortunately, there is no magic solution in the world of nutrition to help us lose those unwanted pounds.
Getting the correct amounts of essential nutrients can help us speed up our metabolism, which in turn eases the tedious journey of weight loss.

Vitamins for weight loss essentially depends on how many calories you eat as opposed to what you expend. But, for some people, vitamin-based supplements can be extra help.

Here are some of the important things to know about vitamins for weight loss:

1. Vitamin C for weight loss:

According to a study published in December 2018 by Nutrition Journal (USA), taking magnesium along with vitamins A, C and E can help reduce muscle mass index and waist circumference.

An adult person needs between 35 and 90 milligrams of vitamin C a day, which can be ingested through vitamin C capsules or with a daily intake of some of the following foods:

- 1 serving of red pepper (211% RDA)

- 1 kiwi (185% RDA)

- Strawberries (108% RDA)

- Broccoli (90% RDA)

- Tomatoes (61% RDA)

2. Vitamin A and metabolism:

According to the Office of Dietary Supplements of the National Institute of Health (USA), most Americans do not meet the recommended daily intake of vitamin A.

This fat-soluble vitamin plays a very important role in the regulation of the thyroid hormone, and not consuming the necessary amount of vitamin A is associated with the reduction of this hormone in the body, according to a study published by the Journal of the American College of Nutrition (USA.).

The thyroid hormone regulates the energy use of the cells of our body, directly affecting the speed of metabolism. When thyroid levels are too low, somebody functions slow down, causing the body to function more slowly.

You can help keep your metabolism active and fast by eating foods rich in vitamin A to ensure you are getting the recommended daily allowance (RDA), which is 700 micrograms for women and 900 for men.

3. Vitamin D and weight loss:

According to a study published by the Obesity Review of the National Institute of Health (USA), vitamin D deficiency is a common factor in people with obesity.

Although the relationship between obesity and vitamin D is not fully established, scientists believe in the theory that vitamin D plays a fundamental role in fat regulation, which can contribute to weight gain and even obesity. This is stated in a review published by the International Journal of Obesity (USA).

4. Vitamin B for energy:

Vitamin B is part of a group of 8 water-soluble vitamins that play a very important role in transforming food into energy.

As vitamins that promote weight loss is a fundamental element for metabolism, it may be thought that the intake of B vitamins helps with weight loss, but this is not the case.

Group B vitamins are soluble in water, and it is difficult to retain them in the body because, in case of taking more than necessary, they will be eliminated in the urine.

However, making sure you meet your B vitamin needs can help control your appetite and keep your energy levels high.
